NHS Sight Tests
NHS Sight tests. There are 62 Opticians practices providing NHS sight tests across central and eastern Cheshire. To find out if you are entitled to an NHS sight test and/or help towards the cost of glasses contact your Optician or collect an HC11 Help with Health Costs leaflet from Jobcentre Plus, NHS Hospitals or your Doctor.
Domiciliary NHS Sight tests. There are a further 31 Opticians who provide domiciliary NHS sight tests; these opticians will visit qualifying patients in their own home. For more information and to find a Domiciliary optician in your area contact the Cheshire Health Agency on 01244 650481.
Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Service. Any diagnosed Diabetic, over 12 years old, should be screened annually for Diabetic Retinopathy. Central & Eastern Cheshire host the Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Service, supported by 56 Opticians practices across the whole of central, east and western Cheshire. If you think you should be screened but haven’t been sent an invitation to attend please contact your GP or the Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Service on 01270 275524.
