Don’t Forget Your Holiday Prescriptions

GP Practices across central and eastern Cheshire will have limited opening hours over the holidays; therefore we are urging those that require medication to make sure they have enough to cover the holiday period.
Please note that your GP Practice will be closed from:

If you do become unwell over the holidays, make sure you choose the right NHS service for you.
Self-care is the best choice to treat very minor illnesses, injuries or ailments such as, coughs, colds, sore throats, upset stomachs and aches and pains. These can be treated by a well stocked medicine cabinet.
NHS Direct provides a confidential telephone service, 24 hours a day, to give advice and guidance on health issues 0845 4647.
Your local pharmacy can provide confidential, expert advice and treatment for a range of common illnesses and complaints. GP Out of Hours service can provide urgent medical attention when your GP practice is closed. For South Cheshire and Vale Royal call 01270 273666, for Eastern Cheshire call 01625 502999.
Minor Injury Units/Urgent Care Centres offer convenient access to a range of treatment for minor illnesses and injuries including infections, rashes, fractures and lacerations, emergency contraception and advice, cuts, bruises, burns and strains. A&E or 999 should only be used in a critical or life threatening situation. Dialing 999 and stating a medical emergency situation will result in a response vehicle being sent to your location.
