A&E or 999

A&E should only be used in a critical or life threatening situation. Dialling 999 and stating a medical emergency situation will result in a response vehicle being sent to your location.

You should only use A&E if you are badly hurt or if you become seriously ill.

• Severe head injuries
• Heavy bleeding following injury
• Severe fractures and broken bones
• Severe burns and all facial burns
• Stomach pains
• Sever Chest Pains
• Respiratory Problems
• Loss of Consciousness
• Overdose / poisoning

In an emergency go straight to A&E or dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.

A&E is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
